Women, Sexual Harassment, and Coping Strategies: A Descriptive Analysis

Objectives: Sexual harassment is one of the most common workplace issues that female employees may experience. The issue especially severe for women working in a healthcare setting due to factors, such as unequal hierarchical power, night shifts, and significant volume visitors, etc. This study sought characterize categorize responses causes acute sexual harassment. Methods: Thirty-nine hospital who had experienced were selected in-depth interviews part qualitative designed collect data. Results: categorized chronologically pre-, during-, post-harassment. Preventive strategies notable pre-harassment responses, whereas, during harassment, diffusion, denial, avoidance, behavioral changes responses. Nonetheless, since non-disclosure, non-reporting could result persistence post-harassment shed light on factors determined victims' failure disclose Discussion: Although experience settings, they typically refrain from reporting it respond passively situations. Formal informal organizational support harassed can empower them resist harassers report their conduct settings.
